Description:
Nigel Irwin is a singer-songwriter of the Cree Nation who grew up in Niagara. He has been releasing music since 2015. Irwin discovered his craft playing in the Toronto open-mic scene and has since left his folky beginnings for larger pop ambitions. With his recent single ‘Reconcile’, Irwin has found a way to bring his Cree heritage into his lyrics, singing about his struggles with being mixed-native in an age of reconciliation. The Irwin Songbook is an ever-growing collection of tunes with sounds ranging from jazz to electronic, low-fi hip-hop to sixties rock. Nothing is off the table. Presented in conjunction with Niagara Concerts. Space is limited. No registration required.
